Matt McLernon is a veteran music tech executive and the Artist Engagement Lead at YouTube, where his team defines the platform’s strategic relationship with artists. With 15+ years of experience at YouTube, Matt specializes in helping artists grow their audiences and build careers, connecting product innovation, artist development, promotion and paid engagements.

Over his years at YouTube, Matt has driven career-level impact for artists and key partners across the music industry. He's a core member of the Coachella on YouTube team and project managed the relationship over the last 4 years, leading it to continuously set and break records. He created and leads the internal process for booking artist x brand partnerships within the company, has managed portfolios of top artist management firms, was instrumental in raising $2M+ for independent music venues during the pandemic through SOSFest, secured YouTube a Technical Emmy for its copyright management system and more. He famously credits landing his initial job at YouTube to tap dancing.

Prior to YouTube, he led PR campaigns and teams across consumer and business technology clients, landing complex communications plans with a human touch. He lives in LA with his husband and dog, and right now is probably listening to Le Youth, The 1975, Robyn or The Paradox.
