Whether it’s behind the scenes or behind the decks, Erez is determined to bring people together, amplify new sounds, and uncover the elements that make you move. Cutting his teeth in the Brooklyn scene in the early 2020’s, Erez began his journey with monthly DJ residencies at TBA Brooklyn and Ciao Ciao Disco and built a foundation as an event producer hosting regular parties under the brand name SAY YES at Elsewhere with one-off’s at House of Yes and Superior Ingredients. It was in these years he fell in love with the local scene, soaking up inspiration like a hard squeezed sponge, where late nights turned to early mornings and friends became family. As a DJ, Erez always sought to introduce new sounds to the crowd around him, preparing for sets by pouring over digital libraries, searching deep for samples and rhythms that excite. Drawing inspiration from local heroes and expert selectors and keeping a close watch to budding international trends, his curation combines familiarity with surprise, classic with avant garde. These days, catching an EREZ.JPG DJ set is a rare but special occurrence, only seen from time to time at spots like Signal, H0L0, Apollo studio, and the likes when duty calls. In late 2022, he co-founded RAW CUTS as a means to try something new: add an experience that combined the best of the underground and the commercial - create a space that was value-driven and ethos inspired and share it with the world. Since then, it’s been a wild ride of growth, challenges, and inspiring moments as the brand and Erez’s role in the scene has evolved. In a few short years, they’ve worked with some of the biggest acts in the industry, traveled the world to share their mission, started a label RAW CUTS Records, developed a team of professionals and resident DJ’s, and built a genuine community of fans and music lovers. As the opportunities have grown, so has the responsibility to lead, connect, listen, and inspire: it’s nothing but open seas ahead and wind behind the sails as he ventures into the future.
